Different Spaces

This is a conceptual work. The piece consists of a three-part wooden ‘plinth’ sections painted with 108 red and white stripes plus 108 small pieces of flint. The flint was collected in King’s Wood, Challock. The work is transported to a selected site, usually requiring an arduous walk. It is set carefully set up, meditated upon, photographs taken, and then dismantled. I do not work to an audience but I am pleased to talk about the work to interested passers-by.

Different Spaces exists as memories, photographs and social media posts. In a future Journal piece I will talk more of the meaning to me and also the significance of the number 108.
